On February 16-18, Representatives of the Competition Promotion and Consumer Protection Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, at the invitation of the Federal Antimonopoly Service of the Russian Federation, took part in the next extended meeting of the Coordinating Council on Advertising under the Interstate Council for Antimonopoly Policy in Kazan.
This event was organized on the occasion of the 20th-anniversary of the signing by the heads of government of the CIS countries of the Agreement on cooperation in the field of advertising activities of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (December 19, 2003, Moscow).
As part of the extended meeting a scientific and practical seminar was held on “Formation of a policy of openness, social responsibility, measurement and reputation management”.
Topical issues and problems of the advertising industry were actively discussed at this seminar. In particular, they talked about violations that occur in the advertising of financial services, how to protect children from inappropriate advertising and, in general, citizens from intrusive and misleading advertising.
The importance of more active use of self-regulation and public control tools was emphasized.
At the end of the event, based on the main topics of the seminar, as well as an active discussion by members of the Council and participants, a work plan of the Council for the near future was developed.
