International Seminar on Futures Trading and Regulation of Commodity Markets Concludes
A two-day international seminar on “Futures Trading and Regulation of Commodity Markets” jointly organized by the Competition Committee, the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) of the U.S. Department of Commerce, and the Republican Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange, successfully concluded in Tashkent on June 22–23.
During the seminar, participants discussed international practices related to the functioning of commodity futures markets, exchange trading, clearing and settlement systems, AML/KYC requirements, market surveillance, risk management, and ensuring market integrity.
Particular attention was also given to the role of regulators in effective commodity market oversight, the protection of consumer and investor interests, and the creation of fair and equal conditions for all market participants.
The event concluded with an active exchange of views and professional experience among participants. It was emphasized that the advanced international practices and expertise presented by foreign specialists would contribute to the further development of commodity markets, enhancement of exchange trading efficiency, and improvement of regulatory mechanisms in Uzbekistan.
As noted during the seminar, the event served as an important platform for dialogue and knowledge exchange, promoting transparency and stability in commodity markets, supporting the introduction of advanced regulatory practices in futures trading, and strengthening international cooperation in this field.
