As part of the seminar, Kevin Piccoli, an international expert on commodity futures markets from the U.S. Department of Commerce, delivered a presentation on the operating principles of commodity futures markets and highlighted the importance of futures contracts in ensuring price stability and managing risks for market participants.
Ms. Aleena Nasir, Attorney Advisor of the CLDP Program, highlighted the ongoing cooperation with the Competition Committee, particularly the implementation of measures outlined in the Roadmap signed during the Committee’s visit to the United States. She also emphasized the effectiveness of practical seminars aimed at strengthening the Committee’s professional capacity in the field of commodity futures market regulation.
As part of the seminar, participants are discussing the operating principles of commodity futures markets, exchange trading, settlement and clearing systems, compliance requirements, AML/KYC mechanisms, market monitoring, risk management, enforcement practices, and measures to ensure market integrity.
