During control purchases conducted by the Competition Committee in cooperation with other competent authorities, a number of food products were found to be non-compliant with the applicable sanitary, hygiene, and safety requirements. Appropriate enforcement measures are being taken against individuals who placed substandard products on the market, as well as sellers who failed to comply with storage requirements.
Regional examples:
Samarkand Region
Control purchases covering nine types of food and consumer products were conducted. Laboratory testing revealed that “555 MUKA” flour, produced in Kazakhstan, failed to meet sanitary requirements and was deemed unfit for consumption. Mandatory instructions were issued to remove the product from sale.
Navoi Region
During a control purchase at a retail outlet belonging to FORDES GROP LLC, laboratory testing found that “Saodat” iodized table salt produced in the Khorezm Region did not comply with safety requirements. The collected materials were forwarded to the competent authority for action against the manufacturer.
Bukhara Region
Laboratory analysis established that “Sulaymon Fayz” first-grade wheat flour produced by Sulaymon Nafosat Fayz LLC did not comply with sanitary and hygiene standards. An order was issued requiring the return of UZS 5.7 million in proceeds from the sale of the product to consumers.
Jizzakh Region
Laboratory testing of “Ardus” flour samples produced by Javhar Flour Trade LLC revealed that the iron and zinc content did not meet the established standards. Sales of the product were suspended, and enforcement measures are being taken against the seller.
Fergana Region
A sample of “Troyka” wheat flour was found to be non-compliant with regulatory requirements during laboratory testing. The case materials have been submitted to the competent authority for further consideration.
The Competition Committee continues to conduct control purchases on a regular basis.
