Fergana Region
A resident of Fergana city, identified as K.Sh., purchased a laptop from the “CompMir” LLC store. After some time, an inspection by a specialist revealed that certain components of the laptop had previously been used.
The consumer requested a refund from the seller, but the payment was not returned.
Following an investigation by the regional office, the consumer’s claim was found to be justified. Under the applicable legislation, consumers are entitled to a refund if a product is defective or does not meet the declared specifications.
As a result of the measures taken, the consumer was refunded the full amount of UZS 1.5 million.
Another consumer, M.A., a resident of Dangara district of Fergana Region, purchased an electric cargo vehicle worth USD 5,200 from the “Jahon Motors” store in Andijan.
Although the seller guaranteed that the battery would operate for up to eight hours, in practice it discharged within approximately one hour.
Despite promising to replace the battery, the seller failed to resolve the issue for more than a month.
Following an investigation by the Fergana Regional Office of the Competition Committee, new battery units worth USD 2,000 were installed for the consumer.
Kashkadarya Region
Citizen J.O. filed a complaint against “Trust Insurance”. According to the complaint, an insurance contract had been concluded in connection with a loan obtained through “Aloqa Bank”. Since the loan was repaid ahead of schedule, the insurance company was required to refund UZS 3.6 million.
However, despite repeated requests, the amount was not returned.
As a result of the investigation conducted by the regional office, the consumer was provided with the recovery of the full amount of UZS 3.6 million.
Tashkent City
Residents of the Mirzo Ulugbek and Uchtepa districts, M. Beridze and D. Sulaymanov, contacted the Committee’s hotline to report that products purchased from retail stores had expired.
During inspections conducted by the Tashkent City Office of the Competition Committee, these violations were confirmed. It was established that the requirements of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Consumer Protection” had been violated.
As a result, proceedings were initiated against “New Retail” LLC and the sole proprietor “Duysenov Ildar Saparbayevich”. Administrative reports were drawn up against the responsible officials, and the case materials were referred to the court.
