On March 24th, 2022, Antimonopoly Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan organized a meeting with a delegation members of Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).
From the Antimonopoly committee side, the leadership representatives included the followings: Sharakhmetov Shakhrukh Shaturgunovich, Chairman of the committee; Karabaev Farrukh Esanalievich and Ummatov Bekzod Hamzaevich deputies of the Chairman, Khaitmetov Elmurat Sidikmatovich, Director of Consumer Rights Protection Agency, Mirzokhid Kamilov, Head of the public procurement department, as well as Yusupjanov Bakhodir, Deputy head of the strategic program development, implementation of the best practices and working with international indexes and ratings, and the EEC delegation headed by Mr. Arman Shakkaliev, Member of the Board, Minister in charge of Competition and Antitrust Regulation of the EEC, Armine Hakobyan, Deputy director of the department for Competition and Public Procurement Policy and Anastasia Somova, Advisor to the Department of International Cooperation and Competition advocacy attended in the meeting.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the forthcoming actions within the framework of the memorandum and the Joint Action Plan signed between the EEC and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Moreover, the participants agreed to hold training seminars, workshops and other events in the Republic of Uzbekistan to increase the capacity of the Antimonopoly committee’s staff on competition and public procurement spheres.
At the same time, the participants of the meeting discussed the possibility of participation of employees of the Antimonopoly Committee in educational activities of the training center at the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of the Russian Federation.
In addition, through the meeting both parties discussed the participation of the Chairman and staff members of Antimonopoly committee at “5 + 1” format meeting which the heads of antitrust authorities of the EEC member states and Mr. Arman Shakkaliev, Member of the Council (Minister) for Competition and Antitrust Regulation of the EEC meet regularly.
The parties also discussed other formats of cooperation, including the exchange of information, experience in ongoing work and participation in international events.
