The updated Constitution is a new and improved document, its adaptation to the reality in society, to the great milestones of the development strategy of New Uzbekistan, is one of the main requirements of today.
The Competition Promotion and Consumer Protection Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, organized a promotional event on “The updated Constitution is an important legal basis for democratic development”.
The main purpose of the event is to inform the staff of the Committee about the new version of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan adopted by the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, its content and the national referendum to be held on April 30 this year.
In it, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Budget and Economic Reforms of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Durbek Akhmedov and Deputy Chairman of the Committee Asadulla Qayumov noted that the Constitution is an improved new document important for the development of our country, and that one of the main requirements of today is its adaptation to the real reality in society and the great goals of the development strategy of New Uzbekistan. An understanding was also given about the constitutional referendum and the procedure for holding it. During the event, each of the main changes to the Constitution was discussed separately and an exchange of views took place. Regional branches of the Committee also took part in an online promotional campaign.
It should be noted that the revised Constitution is also an important policy document in the activities of the Competition Promotion and Consumer Protection Committee. In particular, in Article 65 of Chapter XII “Economic Foundations of Society”, the basis of the economy of Uzbekistan, aimed at improving the welfare of citizens, is property in its various forms. The state creates conditions for the development of market relations and fair competition, guarantees freedom of economic activity, entrepreneurship and labor, taking into account the priority of consumer rights.
In addition, according to Article 67, the State ensures a favorable investment and business climate. Entrepreneurs, in accordance with the law, have the right to carry out any activity and independently choose its direction. On the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the unity of the economic space, the free movement of goods, services, labor resources and financial resources are guaranteed. Monopolistic activity is regulated and limited by law. Naturally, all these rules serve the further development of this area.
