Today, within the framework of the 25th Annual Conference of the International Competition Network (ICN Annual Conference 2026), held in Manila, Philippines, Chairman of the Competition Promotion and Consumer Protection Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Khalilillo Turakhujaev, held a meeting with Chairman of the Philippine Competition Commission, Michael G. Aguinaldo.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for further strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of competition policy, enhancing institutional capacity, and implementing promising joint initiatives planned for the near future.
The sides also exchanged views on cooperation in the areas of digital markets, public procurement, and the introduction of modern competition policy instruments. Following the discussions, the parties reached an agreement on the signing of a bilateral Memorandum of Cooperation.
Both sides expressed their mutual interest in expanding international cooperation and maintaining consistent practical dialogue between the two authorities.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Mr. Turakhujaev invited representatives of the Philippine Competition Commission to participate in the international conference scheduled to be held in Tashkent on 16–17 June this year.
Within the framework of the conference, Committee official B. Yusupjanov, during his speech at the session entitled “International Cooperation Project: Enhancing Enforcement Effectiveness through International Cooperation,” presented Uzbekistan’s experience in international cooperation in the field of competition policy, as well as ongoing efforts to introduce modern artificial intelligence-based systems in public procurement.
