On May 7 of this year, within the framework of the 24th Annual Conference of the International Competition Network (ICN) held in Edinburgh, the Chairman of the Competition Promotion and Consumer Protection Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a bilateral meeting with the Head of the French competition authority — Autorité de la concurrence.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the regulation of digital platforms. In particular, special attention was given to the exchange of experience in conducting investigations in the digital sector, including a review of recent successful cases handled by the French authority and the procedures for enforcing decisions.
As a result of the negotiations, a preliminary agreement was reached to launch an exchange program, including the possibility of sending French experts to Uzbekistan to conduct joint investigations and support the improvement of national competition legislation.
