The Competition Promotion and Consumer Protection Committee considered an appeal from a citizen living in the city of Chirchik, Tashkent region, regarding public utility issues.
In the appeal, the consumer submitted an application to the Chirchik city branch of Toshkent suv ta’minoti LLC to conduct a state inspection of the existing drinking water meter. The meter was installed on November 11, 2014. Based on the results of the inspection, it turned out that the meter had failed and other problems had arisen with it.
Appendix No. 3 of the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated Appendix No. 3 of the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated August 20, 2019 No. 698 establishes the procedure for the implementation of consumer applications for the removal of water meters, periodic verification and its installation within the established time frame according to the regulations, and also, if the comparative laboratory provides a conclusion on the unsuitability of the meter for use, then the costs of replacing water meters with new ones are covered by the supplier.
Based on the results of a study conducted by the Competition Committee, on the basis of a comparative conclusion, a new water meter marked No. 1985 was installed at the expense of the LLC providing services to the consumer. It also turned out that the account belonging to this apartment has a balance of 271,154 soums.
