Within the framework of the 7th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Türkiye the delegation headed by Farrukh Karabayev – Deputy Chairman of the Competition Committee, held a meeting with Birol Küle – Head of the Turkish Antimonopoly Authority.
The meetings held on 25-26 December, 2023 reviewed cooperation in the field of competition and antitrust policy and its further improvement, the application of scientific research in the analysis of commodity and financial markets, as well as discussed the issues of joint analysis in the field of assessing the cross-border impact of economic concentration agreements on competition.
Also, the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between the Competition Committee and the Turkish Competition Authority was one of the big steps for mutual co-operation in this field.
At the same time, during the meetings it was decided to:
hold a meeting of the competition authorities of the member states on the establishment of the Competition Council of Turkic States within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States;
approve the Roadmap for mutual co-operation and exchange of experience for 2024-2025 to ensure the implementation of the Memorandum signed between the Competition Committee and the Turkish Competition Authority;
to organise participation of the Committee’s employees in trainings held by the Turkish Antimonopoly Authority and the relevant organisational work was defined.
