The Competition Committee presented an overview of its activities in the field of consumer rights protection.
During the event, E.Khaitmetov, Head of the Consumer Rights Protection Department of the Committee, delivered a speech on the measures being taken to safeguard consumer interests.
In 2024, the Competition Committee received a total of 30,070 consumer complaints. As a result of the review, consumers were compensated for damages amounting to 32.9 billion UZS. Additionally, in the trade sector, goods worth over 3.08 billion UZS were either replaced or refunded in 426 cases.
Additionally, L.Grauberger, Head of Consumer Protection and Competition at the German Sparkassenstiftung for International Cooperation in Uzbekistan, delivered a speech on international cooperation in this area.
The Committee and German Sparkassenstiftung for International Cooperation have been engaged in long-term and fruitful collaboration, implementing several important projects in the field of consumer rights protection.
