🔻 As part of the International Conference, keynote addresses on the role of fair competition in promoting sustainable and inclusive long-term economic growth amid global uncertainty were delivered by the following international and national experts:
Elnur Baghirov — Chairman of the Anti-Monopoly and Consumer Market Control Agency under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan;
Marc Bataille — Secretary General of the Monopolies Commission
of Germany (Monopolkommission);
Hakan Bilir — Vice President of the Turkish Competition Authority;
Farrukh Karabaev — Deputy Chairman of the Competition and Consumer Protection Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the keynote addresses, inflationary pressures, supply chain disruptions, high market concentration, labour productivity, innovation, and the role of fair competition in enhancing consumer welfare were discussed. Participants also exchanged views on international best practices and practical approaches to promoting sustainable and inclusive economic growth amid global uncertainty.
The World Bank’s reports have repeatedly emphasized that competition plays a vital role in economic growth and is an integral part of the state’s economy. Based on the above, the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan’s competition policy have also been recognized and acknowledged by the World Bank.
