Tashkent region department of the Competition Promotion and Consumer Protection Committee received an appeal from Bekabod Rice Klaster LLC.
The statement notes that on June 1, 2021, an agreement No. 22-0737 for the supply of electricity was signed between the Zafar Power Grid Enterprise of the Bekabad district and Bekabod Rice Klaster LLC. According to Annex 1 to this agreement, according to the technical conditions, up to 482 kW of electricity supply is allowed. However, employees of the Zafar Power Grid issued an act of debt in the amount of 2,272,904,350 UZS due to the establishment of a violation of paragraph 6 of the Rules for the use of electrical energy in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers dated 12.01.2018 No. 22, as well as the non-inclusion of the agreement between the parties in electronic program.
During an investigation of an appeal by Bekabod Rice Klaster LLC, the regional department found that the requirements of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Natural Monopolies had been violated by the Zafar Power Grid Company. Regarding the state of violation of the law, proceedings were initiated against Tashkent Regional Electricity Grid JSC in accordance with the Regulation “On the Procedure for instituting and examining proceedings on violations of legislation on competition, on natural monopolies, on the protection of consumer rights, and on advertising”.
On May 23 of the current year the special commission of the regional department found that the amount of debt of 1,359,570,150 UZS accrued to Bekabod Rice Klaster LLC was unreasonably calculated, as a result of which the Tashkent Regional Power Grid JSC was issued an order to recover the debt.
