The Competition Promotion and Consumer Protection Committee is reviewing the circumstances surrounding the delay of Centrum Air’s Istanbul–Tashkent flight and has taken the matter under its supervision
Reports have circulated on social media stating that Centrum Air flight C6302 on the Istanbul–Tashkent route was delayed by more than 3 hours, causing dissatisfaction among passengers.
The Competition Promotion and Consumer Protection Committee is reviewing the circumstances of the case, including an appeal concerning whether passengers were provided with the necessary information and appropriate services during the flight delay, as well as whether consumer rights were duly ensured.
If violations of the law are identified as a result of the review, the Committee will take appropriate measures within the scope of its authority.
We inform citizens that they may contact the Competition Promotion and Consumer Protection Committee via its unified hotline 1159 regarding cases of insufficient compliance with consumer rights in air transport services.
Additional information will be provided upon completion of the review.
For information: to date, the Competition Promotion and Consumer Protection Committee has received more than 270 appeals concerning dissatisfaction with the services provided by “Centrum Air” and other airlines.
In order to introduce amendments and additions to the applicable rules providing for a procedure for determining and paying monetary compensation to passengers in cases where, due to the fault of an airline, a flight departs later than the scheduled time and/or the passenger is delivered to the destination with a delay, the Committee has issued relevant instructions to the Ministry of Transport on several occasions.
Work is currently ongoing to further improve legislation aimed at ensuring the protection of consumer rights.
