On May 9 of this year, during the final day of the 24th Annual Conference of the International Competition Network (ICN) in Edinburgh, the Chairman of the Committee held an official meeting with the newly elected ICN Chair — Andrea Marván, Head of the Federal Economic Competition Commission of Mexico. This meeting marked the first official engagement since her appointment as ICN Chair.
The ICN is one of the most significant international organizations in the field of competition, bringing together competition authorities from around the world. Prior to the appointment of the new Chairman, Andreas Mundt, Head of the German Competition Authority, had held this position since 2013.
The Chairman of the Committee congratulated Andrea Marwan on his new position and expressed readiness to establish fruitful cooperation, as well as to organize joint initiatives aimed at the development of the competitive environment.
During the meeting, the Committee’s efforts to improve the competitive environment in Uzbekistan were specially emphasized. Andrea Marvan highly appreciated these efforts and proposed organizing dedicated sessions to share Uzbekistan’s experience, including in the field of digital platform regulation.
