As previously reported, on November 16-17 this year, representatives of the committee participated in an international conference on “Competition and consumer protection” at the invitation of Georgian National Competition Agency, which is taking place in Tbilisi.
On November 16, the first day of the event, representatives of the committee took part in the following panel sessions
- Competition policy and sustainable development,
- Competition policy/interagency cooperation in regulated markets,
- Legal guarantees for the protection of consumer rights, as well as the practice of Europe and Georgia in this area,
- Indirect enforcement mechanism.
Today, on November 17, within the framework of the International Conference on “Competition and Consumer Protection” in Tbilisi, a memorandum of understanding and cooperation in the application of competition law was signed between Antimonopoly Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Georgian National Competition Agency.
In accordance with this memorandum, cooperation is carried out in the following main areas:
- exchange of information on legislative developments;
- exchange of experience of parties in the field of investigation of violations of the competition rules of their state;
- exchange of experience of Participants activities in the implementation of innovative developments and information technologies to in order to increase the speed of detection of cases of restriction of competition and the application of measures of influence;
- exchange of experience on the relationship between antimonopoly authorities and national supervisory authorities;
- exchange of non-confidential information about changes in legislation and cases;
- participation in international conferences, symposiums, seminars and other events organized by the parties;
- organization of high-level meetings/visits to discuss the prospects and directions of further cooperation between the parties.
