As a result of an investigation conducted by the Competition Promotion and Consumer Protection Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan based on a citizen’s complaint, violations of advertising legislation were identified in the activities of “AION BEVERAGES” LLC.
In particular, a resident of Yunusabad District, Tashkent city, submitted a complaint stating that “Gorilla” energy drink was being widely promoted through a vehicle owned by the company.
The inspection revealed that advertisements for “Gorilla” energy drink had been placed on 106 vehicles belonging to “AION BEVERAGES” LLC, thereby violating the Law “On Advertising.” According to Article 37 of the Law, the advertising of energy drinks through outdoor advertising and information media is prohibited.
In light of the above, the Special Commission of the Regional Department initiated a case against “AION BEVERAGES” LLC for violating the relevant provisions of the Law “On Advertising.” Following the review of the case, “AION BEVERAGES” LLC was required to ensure the complete removal of the advertisements from all 106 vehicles.
