International Seminar
The international seminar was opened by Farrukh Karabaev, Deputy Chairman of the Competition Committee, who highlighted the need to closely examine advanced international best practices in the regulation of digital markets and to implement modern, effective, and balanced regulatory mechanisms in the context of the rapid development of artificial intelligence and digital technologies.
Subsequently, Olivier Proust, a French international expert in the regulation of artificial intelligence, launched an international seminar for employees of the Committee, as well as for representatives of the relevant ministries and agencies of the Republic of Uzbekistan engaged in activities in this field.
In his presentation, the expert provided a detailed overview of the European Union’s digital policy, with particular emphasis on the key provisions of the European Union Artificial Intelligence Act (EU AI Act), prohibited artificial intelligence practices, as well as the transparency and accountability requirements established for certain artificial intelligence systems.
In addition, based on the experience of the European Union, active discussions were held among the seminar participants on the implementation and further improvement of these approaches in the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as on supporting innovation in the field of artificial intelligence.
