The Antimonopoly Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan held an international event on October 10-13 as part of the “Fair Market Conditions for Competitiveness in Uzbekistan” project, which was created in cooperation with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
On October 10-12, an international training seminar was held on “Market power and abuse of dominance”.
At the training seminar, the participants were learned with advanced foreign experience on such topics as:
-concepts and factors determining cases of abuse of a dominant position;
-criteria for the economic assessment of situations of abuse of a dominant position;
-cases of abuse and use, exclusive rights and privileges, as well as priority areas for their regulation;
At the end of the event, the participants of the international training seminar were awarded certificates. The certificates were handed to the participants by the Chairman of the Antimonopoly Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh .Sharakhmetov and international experts.
On October 13, within the framework of the project “Fair Market Conditions for Competitiveness in Uzbekistan”, an event was held on “Fighting abusive conduct by dominant undertakings”. This international event served as a platform for discussing a number of topical issues of competition, as well as an exchange of views with international and national experts, as well as industry representatives. The event with national experts was attended by international experts such as:
Ms. Sabine ZIGELSKI, Senior Competition Expert, OECD Directorate for Financial and Entreprise Affairs;
Mr. Renato FERRANDI, Senior Competition Expert, OECD Directorate for Financial and Entreprise Affairs;

Ms. Francesca BOTTI, Economic Adviser, UK Competition and Markets Authority.
