On October 22, 2025, within the framework of the Institutional Capacity Building Project implemented in cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the World Bank, the second phase of the presentation on “Leniency Programmes in Combating Cartels” was held at the Competition Promotion and Consumer Protection Committee. The session was delivered by international expert Ms. Lia Grauberger.
The expert presented practical recommendations for introducing a Leniency Programme in Uzbekistan, drawing on the best elements and approaches from six jurisdictions — the United States, Germany, Japan, the European Union, the United Kingdom, and the Republic of Korea. These recommendations will serve as the basis for developing national Leniency Programme Guidelines.
The event marked an important practical step toward establishing modern and effective mechanisms to combat cartels in line with international standards.
