In the city of Brest, Republic of Belarus, within the framework of the 59th Meeting of the Interstate Council for Antimonopoly Policy (ICAP) of the CIS Member States and the 45th Meeting of the Joint Task Force on Investigating Violations of Antimonopoly Legislation of the CIS Member States, bilateral talks were held between the Chairman of the Competition Promotion and Consumer Protection Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mr. Khalilillo Turakhujaev, and the Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of the Republic of Belarus, Chairman of the Interstate Council for Antimonopoly Policy, Mr. Artur Karpovich.
During the meeting, the parties discussed current issues in the areas of competition development and consumer protection. Special attention was given to the dominant position of digital platforms and measures for their effective regulation, as well as to ensuring a level playing field for market participants and maintaining a healthy competitive environment.
Following the talks, both sides agreed to further strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation, establish mechanisms for information and experience exchange, and improve competition policy in line with modern global trends. The meeting was held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere and became an important step toward enhancing practical cooperation between the two authorities.
