The Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC) shared experience with the Antimonopoly Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the framework of the project “Competition Law and Policy – Strengthening the Framework for Development of Competition” organized by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The purpose of this program is to contribute to (1) effective implementation of competition law, (2) review of the existing competition law and policy, and/or (3) drafting a new competition law or amendments of the existing competition law. By providing an opportunity to obtain the knowledge and expertise on the implementation of competition law and policy in Japan, this program further seeks to promote fair and competitive environments in the participating countries.
In this program, government agencies whose activities are directly related to competition policy were invited. Representatives from a number of countries, including the Philippines, Malaysia, Mongolia, Indonesia, Thailand, Kenya, Ukraine, Nigeria, and Angola, were also present. At the end of the program, representatives of all participating countries made presentations on the application of knowledge and experience for the development of the country and future areas of cooperation.
