During monitoring of social networks, advertisements appeared claiming that the “Korzinka” supermarket chain — “Anglesey Food” LLC — on the occasion of its 29th anniversary had prepared gifts for customers and that “CUBES” mini-freezers could be purchased for only 27,000 Sum.
A separate announcement stated that branded mini-freezers together with 24 beverages could be purchased for only 30,000 Sum in the advertising of “Coca-Cola Ichimligi Oʻzbekiston” LLC.
The promotional conditions recommended that participants follow a special link or complete a short survey to obtain the gifts.
When the official websites of the Korzinka supermarket chain and “Coca-Cola Ichimligi Oʻzbekiston” LLC were checked by the Committee, no information on such promotions was found and it was established that no such campaigns were being conducted.
Analysis indicates that the procedure offered to participants for obtaining these “gifts” fully corresponds to a phishing scheme carried out under the names of well-known brands.
Remember!
The Committee recommends that citizens do not follow unknown links, do not provide personal information to unknown persons, and verify the authenticity of any advertised promotion through official sources to avoid falling victim to fraud schemes.
For reference: A phishing scheme is a method of obtaining personal or financial information from individuals on the internet by fraudulent means.
