According to documents submitted to the Committee by law enforcement authorities, it was reported that a citizen, U.Ch., had been overcharged for bus fare by a company providing passenger transportation services on the “Tashkent–Khatirchi” route.
In order to protect the rights of an indefinite number of consumers, the Committee reviewed the operation of buses owned by this company on the “Tashkent–Khatirchi” route for the period from August 22, 2022, to March 31, 2025.
The review revealed violations of the law in the process of ticket sales, namely coercing passengers to use additional services and charging for services not provided. It was established that, during the reviewed period, there was a likelihood of overcharging amounting to 710 million soums in ticket sales to 74,419 passengers.
Based on these findings, the Special Commission initiated a case in accordance with the established procedure and issued an instruction to “Hunarmand” LLC to refund the excessively collected funds to consumers.
For reference: In 2024 and the first seven months of 2025, the Committee and its regional branches received nearly 1,050 complaints from citizens concerning the transport sector, and measures were taken to recalculate and return nearly 1.4 billion soums in favor of consumers.
