In the afternoon session, Nancy Doyle, Senior Special Counsel of the CFTC’s Office of International Affairs, presented on the futures market and futures contracts as a type of derivative contract. She also provided an in-depth overview of the CFTC’s regulatory framework.
Participants also discussed building capacity at exchanges to supervise trading and monitor members, alongside regulatory mechanisms and the role of derivatives in commodities markets.
