The Antimonopoly Committee and its regional offices conducted a study of the correctness of the application of tariffs for electricity and heat, natural gas and drinking water (sewage) for family businesses in 2020 and in the first half of 2021.
In accordance with Article 28 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Family Entrepreneurship”, when a family enterprise uses a dwelling at the same time as living in it for the production of goods (works, services), payment for utility infrastructure services (electricity, water supply, sewerage, gas supply and heat supply) is carried out according to tariffs and conditions established for the population.
However, in the course of the study, it turned out that these requirements of the Law on the part of enterprises providing public services in relation to certain family enterprises were violated.
As a result of the incorrect application of tariffs in the reporting period, utilities from almost 1,100 family enterprises received 1 billion 503 million 600 thousand soums of unjustified income. Among them, 50 family enterprises overpaid 272 million 900 thousand soums for natural gas, 915 family enterprises – 1 billion 204 million 700 thousand soums for electricity and another 134 family enterprises overpaid 26 million 500 thousand soums for water.
At the moment, for all the revealed facts of violation of the requirements of the Law “On Family Entrepreneurship” and unreasonably received income by enterprises – suppliers of electricity, gas and water, measures are being taken to return funds to the accounts of family enterprises. Some of the funds have already been returned.
