As of May 1, 2020, the Central Office of the Antimonopoly Committee received 34 applications for the preliminary approval of agreements on mergers and acquisitions, the acquisition of shares in the authorized capital of business entities.
32 applications from the total number were submitted for the acquisition of shares in the authorized capital of economic entities, 13 of them related to foreign investors.
All requests received during this period were carefully analyzed. In total, the Committee gave preliminary consent to agreements worth 920 billion soums, 49.6% of which (i.e. 457 billion soums) of transactions were related to foreign investors.
It is expected that foreign investors will invest in IT, electrical engineering, construction, chemical industry, food industry and similar industries in FDI and by bringing modern technologies.
