Committee sends an inquiry to \u201cWB TAXI\u201d LLC regarding the protection of consumer rights in taxi services<\/b><\/p>\n
Recently, the Competition Promotion and Consumer Protection Committee has observed a growing number of consumer complaints<\/b> in appeals submitted to the Committee and on social media regarding the provision of taxi services.<\/i><\/p>\n
In particular, during January\u2013August 2026<\/i>, around 20 complaints<\/b> were received in connection with the activities of \u201cWB TAXI\u201d<\/b>. Consumers reported such issues as taxis failing to arrive at the designated location when the service was used<\/i><\/b>, the inability to re-establish contact with drivers<\/i><\/b>, and the operator failing to take any action in such situations<\/i><\/b>.<\/p>\n The review found that the service provider had not sufficiently complied with a number of requirements<\/b> established by the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan \u201cOn Consumer Protection\u201d<\/i><\/b> and \u201cOn Electronic Commerce\u201d<\/i><\/b>, as well as the Regulation \u201cOn the Procedure for Recognizing the Dominant Position and Superior Bargaining Power of a Digital Platform Operator and Identifying Actions Leading to the Restriction of Competition and\/or the Infringement of the Rights and Legitimate Interests of Consumers and Other Business Entities\u201d<\/i><\/b>, approved by Resolution No. 256 of the Cabinet of Ministers dated 1 May 2024.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n The Competition Promotion and Consumer Protection Committee has taken these complaints under review<\/b> and sent an inquiry to \u201cWB TAXI\u201d LLC<\/b> requesting measures to ensure compliance with legislative requirements<\/i><\/b> and to provide passengers with the ability to re-establish contact with the service provider<\/i><\/b> and obtain relevant information.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Committee sends an inquiry to \u201cWB TAXI\u201d LLC regarding the protection of consumer rights in taxi services Recently, the Competition Promotion and Consumer Protection Committee has observed a growing number of consumer complaints in appeals submitted to the Committee and on social media regarding the provision of taxi services.
