Within the framework of the International conference in Geneva , a bilateral meeting was held between Mr. Khalilillo Turaxujaev, Chairman of the Competition Promotion and Consumer Protection Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Ms. Teresa Moreira, Head of UNCTAD\u2019s Competition and Consumer Policies Branch.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views and agreed to deepen their cooperation.<\/p>\n
During the discussion, the Chairman of the Committee proposed the following key areas for strengthening institutional collaboration:
\nConducting an international expert assessment of the effectiveness of Uzbekistan\u2019s competition legislation and state policy in cooperation with UNCTAD;
\nDeveloping a Five-Year National Consumer Policy Strategy for Uzbekistan with the methodological support of UNCTAD.<\/p>\n
Ms. Moreira expressed full support for these initiatives and outlined concrete directions and practical recommendations for their implementation.<\/p>\n
