On October 11, 2024, as part of their visit, the delegation of the Competition Committee met with the Secretary-General of the German Monopolies Commission, Mark Batal.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, the parties discussed mechanisms and practical experience of Germany in regulating natural monopolies.<\/p>\n

They also reviewed the mechanisms used to analyze and address systemic problems in various sectors of the German economy to promote competition.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the delegation met with the leadership of the Federal Network Agency of Germany (Bundesnetzagentur), which oversees and regulates key infrastructure sectors.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, the Committee delegation studied Germany’s practices for promoting competition in sectors such as electricity, gas, telecommunications, postal services, and rail transport by ensuring fair access to networks.<\/p>\n
